Adele's Latest - Beacon Hill Love Story
My new novella, plus my favorite places to visit on Beacon Hill!
Last Saturday, my latest novella, Beacon Hill Love Story, launched for Kindle. If you’re looking for a sweet read to cozy up with on cool fall evenings, this one is for you.
About the Book
Kat's family has spent Thanksgiving at Aunt Elaine's Beacon Hill brownstone for as long as she can remember, until a falling out puts an end to the tradition. Three years after their last shared holiday, Aunt Elaine suddenly passes away, leaving her beloved apartment to Kat.
Against her mother's wishes, and in spite of her own fears of leaving home, Kat knows she needs to make a change. Her post-college life has been lonely, and Beacon Hill is magic.
New friends, new love, and a chance to uncover a family mystery await her in the city--if she's brave enough to go get it.
And if you happen to be in Boston…
Here are my must-stop places on Beacon Hill!
Beacon Hill Chocolates
It’s no secret that I love chocolate. I might even have a reputation for being less than discerning in my tastes. Is there such a thing as bad chocolate? (Okay, yes, there is, but I probably still like it). That said, Beacon Hill Chocolates takes confections to a whole new level. The truffles are unreal. You have to try the Vitamin C truffle. It is life-changing. I don’t normally like chocolate and citrus together, but I have a mild addiction to these treats, which are smooth and silky and have a zing that almost adds a touch of savoriness. Just trust me. You gotta try it.
Tatte
Okay, so there are Tatte locations all over Boston these days, but I don’t think that makes this recommendation any less meaningful. Tatte (rhymes with latte) is heavenly. From house-specialty halva lattes to flaky croissants to crusty sourdough and savory soup to decadent desserts, everything on the menu is divine. I could eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and be a happy girl.
Gus & Ruby
I first encountered Gus & Ruby in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on a writing getaway with the other half of the Adele duo. We both fell in love. If you need cute stationary or gifts, look no further. In fact, Gus & Ruby is the inspiration for Tessa’s stationary shop in Las Vegas for Valentine’s Day!
1928 Beacon Hill
Alas, Lala Rohk is no more, but at least a great restaurant has moved into its former location. Who doesn’t love the speakeasy vibe? Enjoy a cocktail and an upscale take on traditional New England cuisine to cap off a fine day in the city!
